ILLIT Release Music Video For "Lucky Girl Syndrome"

ILLIT (아일릿) - Lucky Girl Syndrome 

ILLIT, the five-member girl group under Belift Lab, that debuted less than a month ago on March 25, 2024 with the mini album "Super Real Me", released a new music video for the song "Lucky Girl Syndrome" from their debut mini album. 

At this point it is obvious that HYBE has a clear vision about the direction the music groups under its label and its subsidiaries should follow. They are definitely trying to create a sub-genre or a sub-trend in K-pop. Fans get annoyed when ILLIT and other HYBE groups are compared with NewJeans, but even an outsider can't help but see that the similarities are there and the comparison is legit. 

Easy listening, catchy, relaxed and super-short tracks that get stuck in your mind but offer nothing special musically. "Lucky Girl Syndrome" fits that exact same pattern. With a duration of less than two and a half minutes, the song is targeted directly to the attention-span deficient TikTok generation and the casual listener. Unfortunately I'm not at that age, so to me the song simply feels unfinished, or an intro song at best. It definitely has some nice hooks and clever ideas, but the reality is that it is just a glorified jingle.
