RESCENE Make Their Debut With "UhUh" And LAYSHA Release New Remake Single "Party Tonight"

RESCENE (리센느) - UhUh

RESCENE is a five-member girl group under THE MUZE Entertainment consisting of members: Woni (원이), Liv (리브), Minami (미나미), May (메이) and Zena (제나). The group made its debut today on March 26, 2024 with the single album "Re:Scene" and the song "UhUh" as the album's title track. The single album will contain only two tracks and the physical release on a CD will come out in two versions simply named  Ver. 1 and Ver. 2.

Track List

  1. "YoYo"
  2. "UhUh"
RESCENE (리센느) - UhUh

This is a decent debut for a girl-group coming from a small entertainment company. Everything is definitely above average. The problem is that it doesn't excel in any area and it doesn't doesn't have a distinct personality and identity. The song itself has a catchy groove based on a distorted synth that runs through the duration of the track giving it coherence, but even though the build-up is excellent leading to an amazing hook, the bland chorus lets it down in the end. Also, those repetitive uhuh instead of being the high points of the song they become the worst parts and the ones that that drag it down. To summarize, the repetitive parts make it definitely a grower, so even though it is not a bad song at all it won't catch your attention on your first listen, which is the major objective of a debut song.

LAYSHA - PARTY TONIGHT

LAYSHA released their 10th digital single "Party Tonight" today on March 26, 2024. This song is also a remake like their previous one "CHOCOLATE CREAM.II" that they released only a week ago. This time they remade their other hit-song "Party Tonight" from their third digital single that was released on November 11, 2016.

LAYSHA - PARTY TONIGHT

The music video this time is pretty tame, especially for them and comparing with last week's "CHOCOLATE CREAM.II", but they did a great work enriching the instrumentals and upgrading the whole aesthetic and visual presentation of the comeback. They really seem like a "proper" girl-group this time instead of a dance-group with some original songs.
