Song Review: LE SSERAFIM Make A Comeback With "Easy"

LE SSERAFIM, the currently five-member girl group under Source Music, that originally debuted as six on May 2, 2022, made a comeback today on February 19, 2024 with their third mini album "Easy" and the same-titled song as the album's title track. The album will contain five tracks and the physical release on a CD will come out in eight versions. Three photobook versions named Vol. 1 (Balmy Flex), Vol. 2 (Featherly Lotus) and Vol. 3 (Sheer Myrrh) and fiver member-specific Compact versions. This album is the follow-up to the group's fourth English digital single "Perfect Night" that was released on October 27, 2023.

Review 

This time Le Sserafim chose to go to the complete opposite direction from all their previous releases. Instead of being "fearless" and powerful they went for mellow and vulnerable while keeping their freshness and their characteristic attitude. "Easy" feels more nonchalant and unbothered, a song that you would except NewJeans to release, not Le Sserafim. And since both groups are under the same parent company, HYBE, makes you wonder if it was a conscious change in direction and a smart move having your two big girl-groups compete with each other.
