Song Review: LE SSERAFIM Release English Single "Perfect Night" And CHUU (LOONA) Releases New MV For "Hitchhiker"
LE SSERAFIM (르세라핌) - Perfect Night
Review
"Perfect Night" may be just a catchy and simple K-pop song, but it also happens to be one of the best K-Pop songs this year. Its melodies are straightforward and simple, making it a pleasant listen for fans of their smooth and guitar-driven sound. It features the group's trademark moodiness and catchiness and soft vocals.
"Perfect Night" also features an 80s aesthetic and has the potential to be a successor to famous retro girl group tracks like Twice's "I Can't Stop Me". However, the song falls within the subdued era of K-pop, focusing on the understated musings of a party yet to happen or one that has already passed. The unobtrusive beat is there but it is not going further, keeping the same tempo throughout the whole track. The airy and ephemeral atmosphere highlights the girls' voices, and the layered arrangements are enjoyable but not very memorable. The song, however, ends feeling a little monotonous and struggles to generate any passion. Overall, "Perfect Night", even though is a really great song, is also what we call a "firework", a song that will burn bright for a little while, but will end up being forgotten very fast.
