LOONA (이달의 소녀) - PTT (Paint The Town)
Release Info & Mini Bio
LOONA made a comeback today on June 28, 2021 with their fourth mini album titled "[&]" and the song "PTT (Paint The Town)" as the album's title track. The album will contain seven tracks and will be released physically on a CD on four versions simply named A, B, C and D. This album is the follow-up to their third mini album "[12:00]" which was released on October 19, 2020. The group also released the Japanese version of their title song "PTT (Paint The Town)" and their Japan debut is scheduled for August 2021.
Mini Review
The song opens with an emphatic verse and an insistent percussion, adding character to the instrumental. The song's build up is satisfying, but the chorus feels lazy and the melody soon becomes forgettable. The instrumental slows down, making the song feel scattershot and disjointed. A post-chorus refrain salvages some momentum, but the damage has already been done. Despite the explosive bridge, there's not much to love about the track. Overall, LOONA's "Paint The Town" is a rather disappointing single that falls short of the group's potential.
