Song Review: AESPA Make Their Japanese Debut With "Hot Mess", VVUP Make A Comeback With "Ain't Nobody" And CHORONG (Apink) Releases "Don't You Know"

aespa - Hot Mess

Review

K-pop sensation AESPA has made a bold entrance into the Japanese music scene with their highly anticipated debut single "Hot Mess". "Hot Mess" is a powerful anthem that celebrates individuality, self-expression, and embracing one's true self. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of someone who is unapologetically themselves, the titular "hot mess", and isn't afraid to stand out, take risks, and defy societal norms.

The song's energetic beats and dynamic vocals perfectly showcase AESPA's distinctive style and musical versatility. The music video is a visual feast that highlights the group's captivating choreography and unique aesthetics, blending Y2K vibes with futuristic elements, and the vibrant palette of hot pink with bold colors to capture the essence of summer. "Hot Mess" features a catchy melody with empowering lyrics and aims to solidify AESPA's rising status in the Japanese and global music scene.

VVUP (비비업) - Ain't Nobody (에인트 노바디)

Review

"Ain't Nobody" is a dance track that blends UK Garage with sleek and groovy electro sounds. The song features a dynamic melody and vibrant vocals and its bright and energetic chorus make it a proper summer anthem. Unfortunately the track lacks the catchy and memorable hooks that could've elevated it and made it stand out among the hundred others similar releases. The short duration once again does not help the track at all, making it even less memorable. It could have been a decent B-side track but as the title track of the first comeback of a small rookie group it lacks impact.

PARK CHORONG (Apink) (박초롱 (에이핑크))  - Don't You Know (모르시나요)

Review

"Don't You Know" is a catchy, disco pop song that features intoxicating funky rhythms and retro synthesizers. Chorong's melodic, mellow voice and touching lyrics deliver a relaxing tune fit for the summer season. Chorong's first solo track is a testament to her versatile talent and determination to continue her dreams and the launch of "Don't You Know" marks an important step in Chorong's career, allowing her to shine with a new radiance and explore her potential as an independent artist.
