Song Review: WOO!AH! Makes A Soothing Comeback With "BLUSH"

WOOAH (우아) - BLUSH

Release Info & Mini Bio

Woo!Ah! the five-member girl group under SSQ Entertainment that made its debut on May 15, 2020 with the single album "Exclamation", made a comeback today on April 8, 2024 with their second digital single "Blush". This single is the follow-up to the group's fourth single album "Pit-a-Pat" that was released on November 16, 2022 with "Rollercoaster" as the single's title track.

WOOAH (우아) - BLUSH

Review

"Blush" is simply WOO!AH!'s ticket to the NewJeans' train. And apparently everyone wants to get aboard in 2024. "Blush" is exactly the mid-tempo, repetitive, easy-listening song you expect it be, with the relaxed, can't-be-bothered attitude in the choreography to match. You can't deny that it's definitely catchy and has its charms, but at the same time it gets tedious and boring very fast. At least the group maintained their bubbly and colorful approach to their music video style with the pink and blue palettes alternating each other. Unfortunately I can't see how this song could increase their popularity in the high-competitive world of K-pop today. They chose to follow the mainstream instead of going their own way, but the song isn't good enough to turn heads in their direction.
