Song Review: VVUP Release Pre-Debut Single "Doo Doom Chit"

VVUP (비비업) is an upcoming four-member girl group under EgoENT that is scheduled to make their debut sometime in the first half of 2024. The group consists of members: Hyunny (현희), Kim (킴), Paan (팬) and Suyeon (수연). VVUP is also a multi-national group, comprising of members from Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand. Today on March 13, 2024 the group released their first digital single "Doo Doom Chit" as a pre-debut single ahead of their official debut. 

Review 

"Doo Doom Chit" doesn't actually mean anything. It's onomatopoeia, a word to describe a sound, for a beat for dancing. It is also a cat-text meme based on ASCII art and it was famously made common knowledge after the hit song of the same name by Crayon Pop in 2016. 

"Doo Doom Chit" shows promise and their company is definitely invested in them but the song itself although it features an addictive melody and a vibrant beat that showcases their individual charms is too generic and bland, that makes it instantly forgettable. The music video was shot entirely in Los Angeles, USA.
