Candy Shop (캔디샵) - Good Girl
Candy Shop is a four-member girl-group under Brave Entertainment that consists of members: Soram (소람), Yuina (유이나), Sui (수이) and Sarang (사랑). The group made its debut today on March 27, 2024 with the mini album "Hashtag#" and the song "Good Girl" as the album's title track. The mini album will contain four tracks and the physical release on a CD will come out in one photobook version.

The first time I heard the song I thought my speakers were damaged and my attention drifted away from the song trying to figure out what the problem was. The problem was that I didn't watch the music video at the same time and didn't realize that that awful noise was supposed to be fireworks. Monumentally bad decision! They sound so cheap and out of place that ruin the whole experience. At this point I don't know if they are part of the song or they were just included in the music video. I really hope it is the latter because the make the song unlistenable to me!
The song unfortunately is nothing really special. I had really high expectations from Brave Brothers considering the songs he has given us in the past. "Good Girl" could have been a decent B-side track on any Brave Girls album. But every single Brave Girls title track is a step above this one and this is supposed to be the debut song for their new girl-group. At lest the music video is really colorful and exciting and funny to watch. If only there weren't those awful explosions...
UNIS (유니스) - SUPERWOMAN
UNIS (유니스) is an eight-member multi-national project girl-group under F&F Entertainment and its name stands for "UNiverse Is Starting". The group was formed through the SBS reality show Universe Ticket and consists of members: Hyeonju (진현주), Nana (나나), Gehlee (젤리 당카), Kotoko (코토코), Yunha (방윤하), Elisia (엘리시아), Yoona (오윤아) and Seowon (임서원). The group consists of four Korean, two Filipino and two Japanese members.
UNIS made their debut today on March 27, 2024 with their first mini album "We UNIS" and the song "SUPERWOMAN" as the album's title track. The album will contain five tracks and the physical release on a CD will come out in two versions: Start and Story version.

The song is very pink and fluffy and cutesy, but that is to be expected considering the age of the members, with the youngest one, Seowon, being only 13 years old! Unfortunately the song itself is very soft, low-key, bland and completely un-memorable. I honestly can't see anyone rushing to add it to his playlist. The production values in general are top-notch and the strange thing is that the mini album has a couple of way better tracks like "Dream of Girls" which brings SNSD to mind and "DOPAMINE" with it rock-ish, up-beat tempo, which is also my favorite of this album.
In other words this album is worth buying not because of the title-track but despite of it. I wouldn't say it was a good debut though, because unless somebody told me specifically to check-out the B-side tracks I would have moved on. K-pop is very competitive and unforgiving nowadays. This is the 4th girl-group to debut in the past week alone, with another one debuting in two days!
