Review
"Wife" feels more like a gimmick-song than a world-conquering single, but in the end this approach is beneficial for the group, who have always been a bit quirkier than their contemporaries. "Wife" sure is unconventional and bizarre, but it also has a fun dance beat and catchy hooks that make you take notice, even though they are a bit repetitive. The song is aimed for TikTok, without a doubt, what with the pastel-colored, bright, striking wigs and bland, monochromatic coveralls. Despite its quirkiness though, "Wife" is a welcome addition to the group's unique and experimental discography. I know their fans will love it.

(G)I-DLE, the currently five-member girl group under Cube Entertainment, released a new digital single on January 21, 2024 titled "Wife" as a pre-release for their upcoming second full album simply titled "[2]" that is scheduled to be released on January 29, 2024. This single is the follow-up to the group's first special English EP album "Heat" that was released on October 5, 2023 with the song "I Want That" as the album's title track.
