STAYC showcases a darker, edgier transformation with their third Japanese single "LIT". The song blends Japanese and Korean lyrics to express the message of enjoying life in your own way. Musically, "LIT" takes STAYC in a more subdued, quirky direction compared to their recent bright pop singles like "Teddy Bear" and "Bubble". The pulsing chorus has potential but stops short of fully committing to a weirder electropop sound that could have made the track stand out more. As a result, the understated groove feels at odds with the song's title. Visually, STAYC sports the sleek monochromatic look featured in the "LIT" teasers and album packaging, exuding a charismatic depth and dreamy aura that contrasts with their signature "Teenfresh" concept. Overall, it is an exciting comeback for a demanding marketplace that stays true to the group's concept even if "Lit" is not their best song.

STAYC (their name stands for "Star To A Young Culture"), the six-member girl group under High Up Entertainment that debuted on November 12, 2020, released a new Japanese single on December 6, 2023. This single, their 3rd, will contain two tracks with "Lit" being the title track and the physical release of the album will come out in nine versions: Regular, Limited A, Limited B, and six member-specific versions. This single is the follow-up to the group's third Korean mini album "Teenfresh" that was released on August 16, 2023.
