Song Review: AKMU Release New Collaboration Song "Battlefield - Hey kid, Close your eyes" with Lee Sun Hee

AKMU - 전쟁터 (Hey kid, Close your eyes) (with Lee Sun Hee) 

AKMU released on July 21, 2021 the music video for their new collaboration song "전쟁터 (Hey kid, Close your eyes)" with Lee Sun Hee. This song (전쟁터 translates to Battlefield in Korean) will serve as a pre-release track of their upcoming first collaboration album titled "Next Episode" which is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2021. The album will contain seven collaboration tracks with seven different artists and will be released physically on both CD and LP. This album would be the follow-up to their third digital single "Happening" which was released on November 16, 2020. 

Review 

In a world at war, two voices rise above the din, singing a haunting yet defiant song of lost innocence. AKMU, the brother-sister duo known for their poetic lyrics and genre-bending sound, have teamed up with legendary singer Lee Sun Hee to deliver "Hey Kid, Close Your Eyes" - a track that is equal parts lullaby and battle cry.

"Hey kid, close your eyes, hang in there just a bit although it's suffocating, because here on the battlefield, once your ears stop ringing, there's gonna be screaming," Suhyun and Chanhyuk sing over an unsettling soundscape of icy synths and martial drums. The imagery is vivid and brutal - children caught in the crossfire, stumbling through mud and blood.
