AESPA's "Next Level" is an ambitious and genre-bending track that continues the rookie girl group's unique sci-fi concept and storyline. Even though the song is a remake of the track of the same name by A$ton Wyld from the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw soundtrack, aespa and SM Entertainment have rearranged and reinterpreted it to fit the group's futuristic sound and expanding lore.
Musically, "Next Level" is a rollercoaster ride that jams together multiple distinct parts and styles. It opens with a gritty, electronic sound reminiscent of action movie scenes before transitioning into the repetitive yet catchy "Next Level" hook. Then a brief, rather weird "Lalalala" refrain follows, which doesn't match the cool vibe very much.
