Song Review: EVERGLOW Are Back With Their Latest Masterpiece "FIRST"

EVERGLOW made a comeback today May 25, 2021, with their third single album "Last Melody" and the song "First" as the album's title track. The single album which will contain three tracks will get released physically in a CD in two different versions: Last Melody and First Memoir. This single album is the follow-up to their second mini album "-77.82X-78.29" which was released on September 21, 2020.

Review 

"First" is distinctly Everglow due to its dramatic violins and epic, bombastic instrumentation during the chorus. The final sequence of the song is particularly impressive, with the energy that comes suddenly out of nowhere. The members' vocal work and rapping also contribute to the dynamic track.

The energy and feeling of the song are over-the-top and enjoyable, the rap-parts are fast and powerful and the lyrics burst with positive attitude. The memorable hooks are there to energize you and prepare you battle. Definitely a training companion track.

The music video is highly dynamic with many cool transitions, and is highlighted by the unique styling of the members' outfits, the various different backgrounds and sets, and the visual effects. The boldness of the video is fitting for EVERGLOW, and the locations used for shooting add to the already epic feel. The camera work also fits the energy of the song, making it one of the best and more memorable videos of the year thus far.
