BLACKPINK - How You Like That
Blackpink is a four-member South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. The group debuted on August 8, 2016, with the single album 'Square One'. 'How You Like That' is their first single album and it was released on June 26, 2020 as the first pre-release single for their upcoming first studio album.
Unfortunately the song itself is very disappointing, to say the least. Teddy, once again, used the same formula he used for their previous two comebacks and Somi's debut song making the song completely predictable and boring. As if that wasn't bad enough the chorus was terribly lazy, empty and childish to the point that the song becomes annoying after multiple hearings. The ending part was also terrible and don't even get me started on the English lyrics. I really wanted to like the song and when it started a big smile appeared on my face, but then the chorus hit and everything went downhill from there on. The song was great for about 40 seconds with great vocal performances from Rosé and Jenny and then chaos. All in all, after more than a year of waiting, delays and empty promises, this song can only be described as lazy and underwhelming. Blackpink desperately needs a new music producer.
