About this Blog

I created this blog in order to cover and review all the major releases from the various active K-pop girl-groups and female solo artists. The objective was from the beginning to create a blog that caters both to the new fan, that just discovered a  group, and to the long-time fan, who is just interested in their favorite group's latest release. For that to succeed the text had to be formulaic, short, compact and precise.

I decided to create this blog back in 2020 because I just couldn't find the information that I wanted, the way I wanted it. Like the sub-title of the Blog explains, I am mainly interested in girl-groups and female solo artists. But, in order to find information about their new releases, I had to shuffle though tens of pages each time at the more popular sites, losing time and patience.

All the big sites flood their main pages with news about all K-pop groups (including boy-groups which I am not that much interested), plus actors, K-Dramas, scandals, promotional videos, variety shows etc. If I wanted to only check-out the new releases and view their music videos I had to spend hours. Websites, blogs, forums etc they all try to put as much information as possible out there with as much text as they could get away with. That was not what I wanted.

I was frustrated. No matter how much I searched I found no website that catered to my needs. I needed to be able to find all the new releases with a view, and be able to follow a group's discography back through time to check their musical journey and evolution. I wanted to read short and compact reviews that didn't use ten different adjectives to express the same thing and just tell me if the they liked the song or not. I wanted to know about members changes.

No website like that existed, so I decided to create one myself.

Thus One In A Million – K-pop blog was created.

I hope you enjoy your visit!

About Me

My journey into K-pop begun, like with many other westerners, with K-Drama and their soundtracks. Specifically, with 2010's Princess Prosecutor's O.S.T. and the song “Give Me” by Nine Muses & Seo Inyoung, my favorite K-Drama at that time.

From that point forward, when I watched a K-Drama I started paying extra attention to the actors, always checking to see which of them were also idols and then checking their music. But I didn't become a K-pop fan until 2016's brilliant K-Drama Goblin (aka Guardian: The Lonely and Great God).

I loved that show so much that I watched everything related to it. In many of the Behind the Scenes videos I found online, the actors kept talking about TT and Twice and how they will perform the full choreography if they won an award.

I had no idea what they were talking about, so I had to find out. Obviously, I went to YouTube and searched for it. And that was it. The moment Nayeon started to sing I knew that I've found something special and here I am almost ten years later still loving K-pop... and of course Twice.

Thank you for visiting my Blog and please come again!
